Ar. Vas Dev Dewan is a Senior Architect with over four decades of experience in India and abroad. He specialises in Urban Design, Building and Engineering Management, Construction and Contract Management. He has significant and peer accredited contributions in Urban Design of Mega Housing Projects, in particular Affordable Housing which has been key focus area of his architectural repertoire while at Delhi Development Authority.
A Graduate of Chandigarh College of Architecture with Masters in Urban Design from world renowned School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and Post Graduate Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution. He is Member of the Council of International Alternate Dispute Resolution, a Fellow Member of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), and Fellow and Founding Member of Indian Institute of Urban Designer (IUDI). He served as Secretary of the Delhi Urban Heritage Foundation.
He was Chief Architect of Delhi Development Authority from April 2004 to September 2009 where he spearheaded liberal development control norms for educational and allied institutions.
At Design Well (India) he spearheads verticals of Urban Design, Construction and Contract Management portfolio. He extends his valuable support for Technical Liaison and Relationship Management with Government agencies.
He is visiting faculty at School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and conducts lectures on Building Engineering and Management for students of Masters in Architecture. He has contributions to a number of technical journals and publications.
